It was a fine Friday noon, and my boyfriend had been in town for two days now. It was his third visit to Jogja since our relationship started, and we had not met for two months. The last time we met was last June, he visited me in Jogja, and we had an almost deal-breaker fight at that time. Things have changed so much since then.

He arrived yesterday afternoon, but we did not have much to do; he was supposed to work, and he needed time to take a rest after a long trip. On top of it, the pandemic limited us from doing anything 'fun' outside. So, my plan for this day was to visit an art exhibition at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta called Nandur Srawung. The theme for this year was Ecosystem, and it was pretty interesting when I saw their posts on social media. I actually doubted they would open the show for the public, but I had contacted the organizer through Instagram's direct message asking about it. Plus, the last time I checked their account, they said that they would be open for the public, though they recommend people visiting it virtually. So, with faith, I took my boyfriend to see it for ourselves.

Long short story, we went there, but alas, the exhibition was closed for public for a while. It bummed me out, but my boyfriend said he appreciated my initiative, but it was barely my fault.

We decided to head back since he had a meeting after lunchtime. I agreed since I did not want to cause him any trouble, even though I was a little bit upset that he came to Jogja but could barely visit any tourist place or anything. On the way back, I remember the same organizer with that art exhibition also had another street art installation across the Panti Rapih Hospital. I had not seen it, and I would love to see it. I asked him, and he said that we could visit it. It would not take a long time after all.

From TBY, he drove straight to the north. We passed Suroto street, and I started humming the song that we sang often. He put that song into our "relationship playlist" on Spotify, if there is any such playlist like that, anyway. It was that “Mari Bercerita” song from Payung Teduh. I love Payung Teduh; their songs always touch my heart. Especially with this one, I got sentimental because I thought the lyrics told a story like ours.

Sesungguhnya berbicara denganmu
Tentang segala hal yang bukan tentang kita
Mungkin tentang ikan paus di laut
Atau tentang bunga padi di sawah

We stopped before the red light on Sudirman street, right across Gramedia, and then he started to join me singing.

Sungguh bicara denganmu
Tentang segala hal yang bukan tentang kita
Selalu bisa membuat semua lebih bersahaja hoooooo

Then he sang the other part funnily; I laughed but kept singing with him. It was my fond memory of him on his third visit. The tiny thing that made me smile but also felt in sync with him instantly. I thought I would write this moment because someday I want to remember this one correctly. Hence, this post.

The rest of the day went well. We visited the street art installation, took many photos, then stayed at the coffee shop during his work hour; it was raining when we were there, so it was kind of cool. I wish for more days like this with him.

P.S. The Nandur Srawung team contacted me a few days later, when my boyfriend had already got back to Jakarta, they spared me a ticket to visit the exhibition myself. Gladly, I went, and as expected, it was interesting. Later that day, I bought a tumbler as a souvenir for my boyfriend.
